Camera Crazy at Santa's Village

We took a group of church kids to Santa's Village amusement park in Jefferson, NH on Tuesday. All went well and I think every one had fun. Since it was a church trip I was planning on taking a group of kids with me and Dan was going to take a group with him and I figured we probably wouldn't get to spend much time together. But there were enough adults that our little family was our group and we got to spend the whole day together.

I have realized that I am camera crazy. I remember my Grandma M. always had a camera and was snapping pictures of us kids when we were little. I can still hear her saying "Stephie, Yoo hoo!" trying to get me to look at her for a picture. Well, that is me now. I got a ton of pictures yesterday and hopefully didn't drive any one nuts while trying to get them to pose.

The whole clan of kids. As you can tell Caleb was not thrilled at posing first thing upon entering the park. (He is the one leaving the picture)

The clan again minus Caleb plus the snowman's head. No one was really into posing so I just took the pic and hoped for the best. Notice the two babies in the front saying hello to each other. Too cute!

On Dasher, on Dancer, on Donner, and Blitzen -- on all of the other painted metal reindeer.

(Notice: Caleb still is not too jazzed about getting his pic taken and I don't think one kid is looking at the camera)

Caleb is swinging like a "Muntey"

Dan and Caleb on th Rudolph roller coaster. What? You can't see them? They're the two little specks right there, see? (Could I have taken a picture more far away?)

We are putting out a fire in a high rise building.

Can't beleve he's driving already!

The Concept of Time

Grandpa Fields will be here in five minutes!

No, Grandpa Fields will be here next month!

Yes, Grandma and Grandpa Fields are coming! Will they be here after my nap?

No, They will be here in a few days.

A few days? That's five minutes! Look at the clock - it says five.

Let's look at the calendar.

The cawnder?

Yes, this is a calendar. Each box means one day. See, here is today, here is tomorrow, here is the next day and the next day.... Let's count how many days until Grandma and Grandpa come to visit. (Together) one, two, three..... See, Grandma and Grandpa Fields will be here in 34 days.

34 days! All right! Grandma and Grandpa Fields are coming in 34 days! Is that five minutes?

No, it's longer than five minutes.

Oh, it's two minutes! Yay! Grandma and Grandpa Fields are coming in two minutes. But I have to take my nap first.

I'm glad we had this conversation.

Cheerios in the corner

I have been trying to post an update for about four days now. I have been busy and when I wasn't too busy I just couldn't think (no comments necessary). Plus I have a ton of pictures to show and I have been having a hard time uploading them the way I want. It still is not right and loaded as a separate post, but I am tired of dealing with it!

This morning I was getting ready to go to the grocery store and the kids were playing in the living room (I thought). I kept hearing Jocelyn cough a little bit.So I went to see what she was doing and I walked in on a cereal party. Caleb was on the couch elbow deep in the cheerios box and Jocelyn was on the floor surrounded in cheerios. They were both just as happy as can be. When I got onto Caleb for getting the cereal out and giving so much to Jocey, he told me that Jocelyn really likes the cereal and she didn't choke - yet.
She has had cheerios before but she only has two teeth so I only give her one at a time to make sure she has chewed and swallowed. She was very mad when I picked up all of the cheerios off of the floor, but she couldn't cry too hard because her mouth had a hundred cheerios in it.
I made Caleb vacuum all the rest of the cereal off of the floor and the couch. He didn't really consider this much of a punishment though since he LOVES to vacuum. Next time to punish him I guess I'll have to make him sit on the couch while I vacuum.

Well, Jocelyn is starting to get better in the nursery. She has made it through Sunday School two weeks in a row without crying very much. She has cried allot during church services though. The nursery workers figured out a way to keep her semi- happy and tear free for the most part. When she gets upset because she wants me, they put her in the swing with toys or a snack and turn the swing facing away from everyone in the room. Yes, folks, my eight month old has been sent to the corner! This seems to calm her down and she can make it through another service. I think this works because she can't see anyone to complain to. If you go over to her and start talking she starts crying all over again. I have told the workers if she cries longer than 8-10 minutes they should come get me; or if they really feel that she needs me they can come sooner. I am hoping that this is a stage that she will soon out grow.

A couple of weeks ago, Dan took Caleb to a race track. At first Caleb did not like it because in his mind he thought he was going to drive the cars. Plus the cars are very loud. After he got over his disappointment, he became infatuated -- with the tractor parked in the grassy area in the middle of the race track. Dan said he talked about the tractor almost more than he talked about the cars. The tractor is what he told me all about when he came home too. Guess we could have skipped the races and just taken him for a drive in the country. I have no pictures of this outing since it was a Daddy and Caleb trip and I am the photographer of the family- plus I am a little obsessive and won't let my camera leave my possession. It's not that I don't trust my hubby with the camera, it's just...

Caleb has found a love for running. We went to a park that had a track next to it and Caleb ran all the way around the track four times in a row. He wanted to go more, but I made him stop. He has endless amounts of energy. I ran one time around with him and started walking after awhile and he said "No, let's run!"

Jocelyn wants to be a climber of Mt. Everest some day. She squeals with delight every time she notices the gate is down and crawls as fast as she can in hopes to climb the stairs before we catch her. She has started trying to climb up onto the couch. Oh, by the way, she stood on her own Sunday afternoon and has been experimenting with that all week. She just turned eight months on the second. She will be a toddler before long. Sigh!

Last Friday evening we went to the Children's Museum . The kids had a blast. Their cousins Molly and Lucas met us there. I have a slide show of all of the pictures that I took. It was a very nice outing.

Check out my Slide Show!
